Lea Sees a Who

As the month of Lea's 3rd birthday approaches we got a wild hair and decided to try out a real movie theater. We are proponents of keeping children out of theaters, but at a dollar theatre on a monday evening at something dubbed "Family 50¢ Night." We thought, ok, that's acceptable. With a bag of popcorn each we headed to the dark theater to view Horton Hears a Who.

Dan, myself, Grandma Lynn and Lea went to the movie. Well Lea seemed spellbound! She did awesome! She ate her popcorn from her kiddie meal and chomped a sour patch stick and watched and watched. WIth about 15 minutes to go in the movie she got a bit antsy and started climbing off her seat, but was still very quiet and well behaved. It was great and we would certainly go for another experience. I don't think its worth more than 50¢ to take her to the movie, but good to know that is an option.

While we were getting situated and talking among ourselves before the previews, I did get the feeling of an evil eye from a woman 2 rows in front of us. I thought, seriously, you're going to be upset about me ruining your 50¢ movie experience on family night at a glorified Seuss cartoon. But there was no need for the stink eye because my kid was better behaved than some adults I've experienced in theaters.

Overall we had a great time. It was a fantastic outing, except for eating TOO much popcorn. And Lea doesn't quite understand why we can't watch it 75 times like we can with her new Robin Hood Video from Grandma. Lea had seen Robin Hood when we got it from Netflicks and it was a fast favorite. Grandma couldn't wait for Lea's birthday, so Lea got her favorite movie over the weekend. We then watched it 3 times in less than 12 hours. We also have Toy Story on trial from Netflicks, its good, but its no Robin Hood... Ooodalaley.
